Godolphin Duo : Debut

ゴドルフィンが所有する日本産サンデーサイレンス産駒の2歳馬、Silent Jo（サイレントジョー、母ジョーノウズ）とSun Kissed（サンキスト、母フライングキッス）の2頭が、ちょうど同じ日にデビュー戦を迎えた。
グッドウッド競馬場のメイドン（7ハロン、12頭）に出走したSilent Joは最終的に9/2の3番手評価。スタートはあまり良くなく後方からの競馬となり、さらに直線で行き場をなくす不利があったようで、外へ持ち出すも勝ち馬を捕らえきれず1馬身半＋頭差の3着に敗れた模様。以下はracingpostからの引用である。

Silent Jo was caught behind horses with nowhere to go approaching two furlongs out. He was switched outside and ran on quite well, but he was gaining only slowly and had too much ground to make up. He should win this year but ought to do much better when stepped up in trip at three.

敗れはしたものの、将来性は高く評価されているようだ。

Silent Joの発走からおよそ3時間後、ニューマーケット競馬場のメイドン（6ハロン、5頭）にはSun Kissedが登場。Daniel Thomasなる馬が5/6と圧倒的な支持を集め、Sun Kissedは3/1と2番手の評価。だがレースではそのDaniel Thomasをゴール前首差でとらえ、見事1着となったようだ。上と同じく、racingpostの戦評を引用しておく。

They went a crawl early on and this developed into a sprint. The time was far from special. Bearing in mind these factors, full credit should be given to SUN KISSED, whose pedigree suggests he'll be better over further.

タイムは遅かったが、血統背景の優秀なSun Kissedには大きな期待が寄せられているようである。
